Keeping Cool Back in The Studio

Well, yes, it has been a busy summer!

I’m still rather overjoyed with the success of my show at The Simie Maryles Gallery in Provincetown, MA, this past summer. Most of The Dessert Series for 2019 sold, and a few other larger, important pieces found new homes.

Speaking of homes, our Brooklyn apartment goes through definite phases when finished art accumulates on the walls, and I say to myself, “Oh! That looks cute over there!” Or, “Who knew those angels would look quite happy above the piano, hmmm?”

Then everything gets delivered to the gallery, and I’m faced with blank walls again!

Of course, I’m being a bit dramatic. We do have art in our “permanent” collection, that doesn’t go anywhere. A painting handed down from a great aunt. A fabric print from my mother. An Erté original that I bought in high school with money that I had saved…

Do you know about my Medieval Bird Series? Yes, each bird relates to a month. More on that later!

So, we’re starting that cycle again!

In this last month of summer, I sit painting happily, creating new work for the fall.
